EV charging at campsites and holiday homes
Holiday homes (sommerhuse) and campsites rarely have a home charger. With the right cable you can still charge.
Normal wall socket
A normal wall socket charges at about 2.3 kW. That gives around 25 kWh overnight, enough for 120–150 km. Only use a charging cable made for the purpose. Never use an extension lead or a cable reel that is not fully unwound. The plug can get hot.
Campsite plug (CEE)
The blue campsite plug (CEE, 16 A) can supply up to about 3.7 kW if you have a portable charger with the right plug. Ask the site first. Many charge per kWh or per day, and some do not allow charging from their posts.
At a holiday home
If you rent a holiday home, ask the owner whether you may charge and how the electricity is billed. Many holiday homes bill electricity by meter, so you are the one who pays.
